Ongoing Events or Activities
Redecoration of the Youth Room.
One of the projects of the youth members is to fix up the Youth Room and make it their own.
The room had been unused for a few years and somehow had collected a lot of old furniture and trash.
So the youth members have chosen to paint the walls a bright and beautiful yellow, to have the carpet cleaned,
have the window repaired and covered with a curtain, and to purchase furniture that will be fun and functional.
Here are some “before” pictures ....

............ and pictures of the youth members making the paint choice

The push is on. The work must get done. The furniture must be purchased. This room will be used for the Rite 13
class which will begin in January 2009. In addition to the class which will met on Sunday mornings,
this room will be used for gatherings of the older youth members, for social or fun activities,
and generally a place where our kids can be kids ... in their own designed space.
If anyone would like to make a contribution to the fund for this redecoration,
please contact Mother Barbara at the church office (516) 767-0363.
Watch for more photos as the room begins to shape up!
What we’ve done recently:
Selling magnetic bumper stickers.
Our youth members have been selling magnetic bumper stickers to promote our parish
Fair and to raise money for youth activities. They have raised over $400.00!
Thanks to everyone who has bought a bumper sticker and supported the youth activities!

All Hallows’ Eve Service.
Recently, youth members gathered in the church for an All Hallows’ Eve service,
which was a time to worship with candles, cool music, remembrance and MYSTERY!
Afterwards, we talked about the connection of Halloween and All Hallows’ Eve which led to some
interesting questions and conversation. Of course, we topped the evening off with halloween and
birthday treats, which made it fun for all!

Bayville Haunted House
A few weeks ago, some very brave youth members and even braver adult chaperones went on a trip to
Bayville Scream Park. The Scream Park consists of five separate “haunted” houses and has the dubious honor of
being named the “scariest haunted house on Long Island” for two years in a row. While this may not seem
appealing to many adults, the teens all had a fabulous time!
