We are the Body of Christ and as such, we understand that it takes all of our gifts to live into the mission and ministry given to us by Christ. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are called to live generously and faithfully so that we may continue God’s work in this world. We do this by offering ourselves and our resources so that we can be the family God calls us to be and joyfully do the work set before us by God.
Our Vestry members take seriously their commitment to the mission and ministry of our parish. Each vestry and clergy member has signed the following Stewardship Statement, and we have committed to increasing our financial support for 2009:
We believe that God is the source of all that we are and all that we have. We respond to God’s love by giving joyfully of our time, talent, and worldly fortune.
Each of us has committed to follow Christ by making an individual personal pledge for next year. We are increasing our pledges this year to ensure that our church can continue to transform Christ’s teachings into action.
We encourage all parish members to join us in this commitment to the mission of St. Stephen’s.
We at St. Stephen’s also understand how important it is that we help our children grow generous hearts and give back to our parish, their local community and our world. Through stewardship education, outreach programs, and involvement in our parish community, our young children to our young adults are given the opportunity to learn to joy of giving.
There are many opportunities to give to the mission of our parish:
• Annual Giving Campaign (operating expenses that support our ministries)
• Gifts made to our Endowment Fund (often bequests)
• Gifts made to specific and designated ministries at St. Stephen’s
